CONTRACT TERMS

 MARRIAGE LICENSE:
-
Client understands that it is the client's responsibility to acquire a valid marriage license in the state where the wedding ceremony will take place and the marriage license must be on the premises when the ceremony is performed. Client understands that failure to have these legal documents means that the wedding officiant cannot legally perform the ceremony and is under no obligation to do so. The officiant may at his/her discretion perform a symbolic ceremony, which will have no legal merit, and perform another ceremony in private for the couple once the legal documents are presented, for an additional fee. Client will consult with the local court or city clerk to find the exact requirements for the client's area.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND:
-
1. Force Majeure: The Officiant's obligation to perform the ceremony is contingent upon unforeseen circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to accidents, riots, strikes, epidemics, acts of God, or other legitimate conditions that render performance impossible or impracticable. In such events, the Officiant shall make reasonable efforts to secure a replacement. If a replacement cannot be secured, the Client shall be entitled to a full refund of the performance fee.

-
2. Limitation of Liability: The Client acknowledges that the Officiant's liability is strictly limited to the performance fee, and the Officiant shall not be responsible for any indirect or consequential damages arising from a breach of this agreement.

-
3. Cancellation and Refund Terms:
-
a. Cancellations received more than 30 days prior to the scheduled ceremony date shall be eligible for a partial refund, subject to a $150 consultation and administration fee.
-
b. Notwithstanding the foregoing, deposits shall be deemed non-refundable if the wedding is cancelled within 30 days of the scheduled ceremony date, unless the cancellation is initiated by the Officiant.

-
4. No-Show or Failure to Appear: In the event the Client fails to appear or misses their scheduled ceremony without notice, and such failure is not attributable to a circumstance described in the Force Majeure clause above, the Client shall be required to rebook the Officiant's services at the full then-current rate for the services originally requested.

MISREPRESENTATION:
-
Any intentional misrepresentation or fraudulent depiction of either party, specifically the bride (female) and groom (male), shall be considered a breach of ethical conduct. In such cases, the officiant reserves the right to terminate the services without prior notice. Furthermore, any fees paid shall be non-refundable due to the consequential loss of time and business associated with the reserved timeslot.

ADDITIONAL TERMS:
-
If the ceremony includes a sand ceremony, unity candle, or any other special feature, it is the client's responsibility to provide all necessary equipment.
-
If the client wishes to have the officiant attend the rehearsal, this must be explicitly included in the package, and an additional fee will be charged.
-
The officiant agrees to arrive at the wedding location specified in the contract at the agreed-upon time. The client understands the importance of adhering to these times, but the officiant acknowledges that weddings may not always go as planned and will accommodate for delays, as time permits. The officiant will allocate an hour time block per wedding to allow for unexpected delays including half hour prior to the ceremony start time as most ceremonies are completed within half an hour.
-
Additional fees may be charged to the client at the Officiant's discretion if ceremony starts outside of the contract.
-
Mileage Fee: A charge of $0.95 per kilometre will apply if the officiant needs to travel more than 40 kilometres from our office (as listed on our website) to the venue.
